Imperial Valley College is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as the next Vice President
for Academic Services. As the college’s Chief Instructional Officer and Accreditation Liaison Officer, this
role is central to shaping academic excellence, advancing equity, and fostering student
success across all instructional programs. Working closely with faculty, staff, and
leadership, the Vice President will guide curriculum innovation, ensure alignment
with student services, and help drive the strategic vision of the institution.
The Vice President for Academic Services (VPAS) at Imperial Valley College serves
as the Chief Instructional Officer and Accreditation Liaison Officer of the college.
Reporting directly to the Superintendent/President, the VPAS is responsible for the
design, delivery, supervision, and evaluation of the college’s comprehensive instructional
programs. These include general education, transfer pathways, career technical education,
basic skills, noncredit, contract and community education, and all learning support
areas within the district
The VPAS plays a pivotal role in advancing institutional excellence and equity. This
leader works in close collaboration with the Vice President of Student Services and
Equity to ensure alignment between instruction and student support, fostering an integrated
approach to student success. By championing innovation in curriculum, instructional
quality, and program design, the VPAS strengthens IVC’s commitment to inclusive, high-quality
education for all learners
The position is central to IVC’s strategic goals, overseeing enrollment management, program vitality, accreditation standards, budget alignment, and faculty development, while fostering an environment of collaboration, shared governance, and student achievement.

October 8, 2025 – 4:00 PM – Hiring Committee meets to recommend candidates for first-level interview.
October 20–21, 2025 – First-level interviews conducted.
November 5, 2025 – Candidate forum.
November 5–6, 2025 – Finalist interviews with the cabinet (3-hour interview, meals, and campus tour).
November 2025 Board Meeting – Final recommendation to the Board of Trustees.
January 2026 – Anticipated start date for the new Vice President of Academic Services.

Board of Trustees – The governing body provides oversight, establishes policy, and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, working closely with the Superintendent/President to guide the district’s strategic direction.
Academic Senate & Participatory Governance – The Vice President for Academic Services serves as an Ex-Officio member of the Academic Senate, working collegially on academic quality, curriculum review, and shared governance. IVC’s governance system includes councils such as the Integrated Consultation Council (ICC), Institutional Effectiveness and Development Committee (IEDC), and Program Review Committee, ensuring representation and transparency.
Student Leadership – The Associated Student Government (ASG) actively participates in shared governance, ensuring student voices shape institutional planning and development.
