Important Notice on Eligibility for EOPS/CARE Program Services:
Please be aware that all EOPS/CARE students should enroll in a minimum of 12 units
and complete 3 contacts/appointments with an EOPS/CARE counselor during the fall/spring
semester (contact in the winter/summer if taking classes) in order to be eligible
for Program Services including Priority Registration/Book Grants, Transportation Assitance,
and other services. Student who do not meet minimum program requirements may be ineligible
for program services and/or disqualified from the program.
The Extended Opportunity Program and Services (EOPS) offers services such as priority
registration, book grants, transportation assistance, individualized counseling, tutoring,
and community referrals to eligible students. Our staff is available to assist and
support students in navigating personal, psychological, academic, and/or career-related
issues through empathy, cultural-competence, and a commitment to equity and social
justice. Also under the umbrella of EOPS is the CARE (Cooperative Agency Resources
for Education) Program, designed to support qualified single parents receiving TANF/Cash
Aid assistance.

- Gas Cards and "Super" Book Grant* (CARE Program Only)

Program Eligibility
In order to qualify for the EOPS/CARE Program, the following criteria must be met:
- Be a California Resident
- Qualifying Financial Aid (CA Promise Fee Waiver Based on Method B Income Standards)
- Must be enrolled in minimum of 12 units (unless approved by Program Coordinator)
- Must not have completed over 70 degree applicable units
- Must meet one of the following criteria:
- 1st generation college student
- English Language Learner/Emergent Bilingual Household
- Special Population - Former Foster Youth, Housing Insecure, Justice-Impacted, Currently
or previously enrolled in developmental courses
- Did not graduate high school or earned General Educational Development (GED)
If none of the above are met the EOPS/CARE Coordinator may take other relevant criteria
into consideration to determine eligibility for the Program as outlined in Title V
of the California Education Code.
