Advisement
To establish an educational path for LVN, students are advised to meet with the Nursing Program Counselor Tanya Dorsey or Maggie Vizcarra located in the Counseling Department, Building 100, and can be reached by email at tanya.dorsey@imperial.edu or maggie.vizcarra@imperial.edu or 355-6543 for appointments.
Prerequisites
Students must be a U.S. high school graduate or have completed the GED, be 18 years of age or older, in good health and able to lift minimum 35lb or more, and have met the prerequisite course work. Foreign high school transcripts or diplomas are not accepted and must be evaluated before applying.Completion of courses with a minimum 2.5 GPA meets eligibility to apply. Completion of Co-requisite PSY 204, Developmental Psychology (Lifespan) with a C or higher prior to applying is strongly recommended. Students who have fulfilled the prerequisite courses will have priority if there are more applications received than slots available.

Selection
A random selection of applicants will be made by a Nursing Program Selection's Committee and a total of 24 applicants will be invited to join an LVN Class. Results are sent to applicants by email 60 days after the last day of the deadline period. If admitted, the following clearances will be necessary:
Cost
Costs include three (3) semesters of nursing classes and run approximately $5,000 to $5,700. This includes tuition, parking, student representation fees, uniform and accessories, lab fees, physical exam and immunizations, background check and drug screen, CPR, textbooks and materials, and the licensure application (NCLEX PN).
